Publisher's summary

The battle is far from over.

When the lives of her loved ones are put in peril, who will Audrey turn to for help?

On the surface, Audrey's existence in the afterlife is coming together. Her quirky new mentor guides her on the path to becoming the demon hunter she always hoped. She has great friends and even a kinda-sorta-maybe new boyfriend. But if things are so wonderful, why is Logan never far from her thoughts?

After learning her family is the target of an unprecedented demonic siege, Audrey puts all she’s gained in jeopardy by defying heavenly authorities and returning to Earth. Stranded at the place she once called home with the one person she's been desperate to forget, she'll face vicious monsters, betrayers, and a legion of demons with an insidious weapon that even her celestial sword can't defeat.

Will Audrey’s mistakes in the afterlife be what destroys the lives of the ones she loves the most?

Awards: Alliance Award (Reader’s Choice); 2018 Realm Makers Award.

Tsk.

I like the story it 's very unique but the character is starting to piss me off. She is a Christian, she grew up believing God yet she doubts her. I mean she already met him. What more proof can there be to doubt him? Also, when she insisted on going to earth to fucking protect her family, she saw how the demons came at her, how they are drawn to her, how can she not have the clue that she is putting her family on more danger. She is not that train yet, everytime she fights a demon she ends up getting her butt kick. She is immature! she is infurating, she might start being the reason why I might not finish this book.

Fun Series

I always struggle to get into these but I really ended up enjoying it. I wish Audry wasn't so negative and I wish the Christian themes were more subtle. The world building and writing are fantastic, the characters are wonderful. I've found myself very invested in this story and I'm excited for the next one. Logan kind of carried this book, especially with his actions on earth.

Highly recommend

Julie Hall does not disappoint in this second installment of her Life After series. Warfare is as touching as it is exciting. A fantastic mix of action and emotion. The Narrator for this book makes it enjoyable to listen as she pulls you right into the story. Highly recommend!

Shut up and give me more!

Warfare was incredible! The narrator has nailed Audrey's voice to a T and I feel like I'm living the action right along with her. The story is getting richer and taking turns I didn't see coming! I'm in love with Audrey's new mentor, Hugo, who is selfless and giving her the exact advice at the exact right time. It's super unique how Hall has used an empathy link for people to read each others emotions if physical contact is engaged in the afterlife, I wish I had some of that right now!
Audrey's drive to protect her family is fierce and unapologetic. She will let nothing stand in her way to reach them and confront the Prince of Darkness himself. And we get so much more LOGAN! I can't say enough good things about these books so far, keep em coming!

Each Book Better Than the Last

I've loved this series since the first book came out, and the audio version is a fantastic reading of a fantastic book. The narrator is excellent at portraying the passion necessary for such an emotionally driven story. You're not going to want to stop listening!

(And if you think the first 2 books are great, wait till you hear the next one!)

Great story!

Great story and well written. Hall made me love and care about all the characters, except the demons, of course. There were times when I couldn't tell if the narrator was speaking as Audrey talking to someone or if Audrey was just talking to herself in her head. The only way I could distinguish this, at times, was through context. Other than that, I loved it!

Amazing story, expertly narrated

Warfare is hands down my favorite book from my favorite series. I’ve read it multiple times and hearing Vanessa narrate it in the audio version sounds like Audrey herself (the main character and POV of the book) come to life. As a Christian, Audrey’s journey of learning to rely on her Creator is so relatable to me. I actually find myself revisiting parts of this book to remind myself of important spiritual truths when I’m struggling in my faith and handing things to God. Julie Hall uses Biblical truth and puts it in a story that brings it to life. If spirituality isn’t your thing, don’t worry. This is still an incredible story with a ton of action and a romance that may have you pulling your hair out, laughing, eye rolling and much more. I simply can’t recommend this book enough!

Such a unique storyline.

I have to say that this author definitely thinks outside the box. This isn't your usual Angel demon series. Each character is individually developed very well, to the extent that you seem to really get to know the kind of "person" that they are. The two main characters are likable and I'm definitely pulling for them. This book ends in a sort of cliff hanger that leaves you wanting more that I'm sure the author will more than deliver in the next book.

Incredible!

Loving the journey with Audrey and Logan. Audio made the book even better with Moyen narrating.
